Solas was apparently confirmed as a romance for female elf inquisitors only. "For story reasons." I smell an avalanche of cliches coming, but I'll reserve judgement.
That leaves but one unannounced LI, and that has to be the non-party member, non-adviser... right? I'm 99% sure it'll be a female, since it's looking like straight males have the short end of the stick at this point. It also means no Varric. (And apparently that was confirmed as well, as I just discovered wandering the wonders of the internet.) There are riots breaking out somewhere... I always suspected he was married, and he's so friendzoned at this point, I don't think I could have romanced him even if he was an option, but I can sympathize with the disappointed masses.

Ugh we're back to racial restrictions. I still kinda dislike those from BG2, but it is nice that the companions are actually having tastes of their own now.
Huh, so what are the actual romance options that are confirmed so far?
Solas for female elves. Sera for females. Dorian for males. Cassandra for males. I think I saw Cullen mentioned somewhere? And Iron Bull?

Yeah, Cullen for females, Iron Bull for both, and Josephine for both. And a mystery for LI #8, other than they had said there was one romance that was neither a follower nor an adviser so it's gotta be that one.

According to Sheryl Chee the eight romances are within the party/advisors and the "non companion romance" is just somebody you can flirt with. Source
So that leaves Blackwall and Vivianne. And either way, I win. Mwahahahaha.I really hope that the game is good and they don't ruin the Warden or Hawke...

Mike Laidlaw revealed all available romances along which genders and races may apply for them, in this thread. Beware. Obviously, there shall be spoilers.

Holy hell.
A BioWare game that overwhelmingly favors female characters in the love department? I just... no words can describe my delight. Although, the number of times I'm going to have to play this damned game is somewhat worrying, heh.

No kidding! In order to romance all of them I need to play the game 8 times?! Eep! I've only managed to finish Origins 7 times, and this game is supposed to be way longer. Hmm....might have to split one or two play-throughs in order to see all of them without having to do everything again.
Edit: OMG...I just read all 43 pages of that thread and now my eyes are watering.

Oh, now that is interesting Technically though before they had that extra time it was going to be an even split gender-wise, and although Solas and Cullen are there it does say that they'll be a little more limited than the others. I'd assume that means since they were added in they might not have quite as much as the other romances. But still! Females getting more, unheard of! Now we have to see if Mass Effect follows suit with their next one. I wonder if they'll give us the character creator to poke around at before release like they did with... I can't remember which one. I think 2, maybe both.

According to David Gaider, the two extra romances are only limited in that they're race-gated. Other than that they're supposedly just as complete as the other romances.

Ugh, that thread makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon. I understand why the non-straight-female-players feel like they got short changed (in the literal, tally-it-up sense, they did), but I don't understand the entitled demand for "equality." It has never been an equal field until very recent years (older games are 100% male demographic led), and as DA2 showed with the "Everyone is Hawke-sexual!" stupidity, equal doesn't necessarily mean better. Does it make any sense that a rivalry Fenris would EVER be interested in a Templar-hating mage Hawke who constantly releases dangerous blood mages into the world? Or that Anders would ever live with a Hawke who kills or locks up every single mage and makes Feynriel tranquil?? Why make them have personalities and opinions at all if they're going to do what you want anyway? I was shocked that Vivienne wasn't a romance, but she IS an Orlesian deeply involved in the Game - it's completely believable that she simply is not interested in love, period. I was also somewhat surprised by Varric's exclusion, mostly because of the fangirl backlash BW knew would come, but like I said before, I'm half convinced he's either currently married or was married and isn't even remotely interested in romance with anyone. That's the vibe he gives in DA2. It's a good thing to see the writers taking personality and preferences into account instead of just blindly providing fanservice. But I can't lie - I like that their choices favor my own preferences. :3 I just can't decide who to go for first.

... I've been wading through that thread too. So much... just... augh. It's like a schoolyard with people pointing and going 'I don't care that I got a fair amount/the same as I did before, that person got more than me! Change it!'. I was surprised about Varric too, from all that I'd heard he was all but confirmed as a romance but it turns out that was untrue. Not that I really mind as I wasn't interested in him but he has quite a lot of fans. I am just so pleased to see women finally getting a little something extra though. Granted currently none of the LIs really appeal to me, but then I also know next to nothing about them and haven't met them in-game yet, who knows what my inquisitors will think of them. I do like it when characters in a game have their own tastes, even moreso if you can try to romance a character who isn't interested and get turned down (I also like it if you can work hard to win them over despite not being what they would prefer, but there would be some things you can't push through and this kinda borders on the DA2 way of doing things.) Another thing which I haven't seen mention of but I'm kinda hoping for in DA3 is flirting like you can in TOR (with a much better gender/sexuality split than TOR). So just having the option to flirt with NPCs you meet along the way, and sometimes it'll lead to something, sometimes they'll respond, and other times they won't.

www.twitch.tv/bioware/b/573285688New gameplay and Q&A from this morning. Starts around 5 minutes in, I think? The character creator is shown, and I have to say, I am impressed. The basics look like ME2/3, but the detailed bits are really fantastic in the way they've been implemented.

I'm so glad we will finally be able to see what eye color we are picking. And so many options too!

Also, another video about the Keep said they're hoping to have it out of beta by mid-October, to give people about a month to get their saved games all lined up.
