Basically everything about our expectations, fears, hopes, joys and sorrows in base of released news, leaks and anticipated spoilers:) So, my thoughts: - more qunari and qunari as a playable race: great! And I'm also hoping for a juicy qunari romance. Did anybody else besides me have a little crush on Arishok in DA2? I find the whole concept of qun and living with the qun fascinating, and I would love to know, explore and first of all, understand more of it. - Varric is back! Having him as a friend was one of the best things in DA2. But I hope he is going to stay in-character. For example, Oghren in DAO and Oghren in Awakening are two different people and I must admit I prefer the original version. - no more reusing of locations, so the most annoying thing from DA2 is gone. - more interactions with companions, and the possibility to talk to them not only on specific occasions, but at a regular basis. That's a HUGE improvement from my point of view. - I'm afraid more Orlesians are coming. Just like winter, I presume it is inevitable. I only hope they are not going to speak the way Isolde in DAO does. I just hate her accent... - Inon Zur is replaced by Trevor Morris as the main music composer. Well, we'll see. - "Part of the gameplay of Inquisition involves obtaining and maintaining power in various regions of the map. In part this is done through strongholds, which can be seized and upgraded to accomplish various tasks, and which serve as a hub for promoting the interests of the Inquisition". Sounds wonderful and roleplay-ish. - more focus on strategy in combat. That could mean that DAI is going to be a challenging game, if not an unbalanced one (another quote: "mage characters will not be able to repeatedly cast, or "spam," healing spells. Similarly, the ability to carry healing items will be limited"). I would love to see some preview of the character's development tree and I hope that the quantity of options matches the speed of gaining levels. Something between DA2 and NWN 2.
And what about you?

I would love to see some preview of the character's development tree and I hope that the quantity of options matches the speed of gaining levels. Something between DA2 and NWN 2. And what about you? I am totally stoked! This is the Dragon Age I've been personally waiting for. I can't wait to see the new romances, learn more about the companions, and especially see how combat works. ARCHERY holds a special place in my heart and I really, reaaaallly need it to be as cool as DA:2. I didn't like a whole lot about DA:2, but the archery had improved significantly (thanks to Varric being one of the party members, I take it?) from the first to second games, and I really hope they allow those same changes to be reflected in DA:I. I am a MASSIVE DA:O fan, and I really hope they do the series justice. The new turn on music is a surprise to me! I didn't like DA@, but again the music seemed fine to me, I wonder why they're changing composers? Building strongholds and things sounds amazing, and I'm definitely looking forward to it. Especially knowing what certain classes can do-mages being able to build things through magic, for instance-to certain built up structures. I am going to make my inquisitor live in a pretty pink palace of DOOM! Olrais always fascinated me, but it's too bad what's happened in the previous books. If it's in a sorry state, it will be canon but still so sad to see. The way Liliana talked about the chapel, the flowers, the fashion... It would be a shame to miss it and be greeted only with debris and fire. Let's talk Morrigan for a second. WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THAT? She had a darkspawn baby, or maybe not? Hmm. I am so excited to play an elf again! I really prefer not to play humans, because I am a human every day and it's so cool to see how interactions change when you change races. I agree with Deina here when I saw Qunari are super hawt (male and female) and it's going to be interesting to play as one. I'm going to be doing the same thing I did with DA:O and run through all of the races! Should be a lot of fun!

Hmm interesting... I am very pleased that we have the races back, and with Qunari added too! With the limit of three classes having a number of races to pick from just adds so much more to character creation. And yeah that Arishok looked fiiiinee <3 Isn't it funny that they keep stepping backwards and forwards with character interaction? 'No we don't want to have a laundry list of questions for the PC to ask', then 'whoops it looks like we got rid of most of what people actually liked about interacting with characters', and finally 'Look! We have new shiny extra character interactions! (just forget that whole doing this before and then undoing it thing)'. Hooray for no reused locations! ... I'll believe it when I see it, they've been doing the reusing thing for a long time now (just not usually as blatantly obvious as DA2 was. But you can see smaller mission locations reused in things like ME). Still, a step up from the DA1 copy-pasting locations will be very good. It will be interesting to see how the strongholds thing pans out. Whether it is actually fun and engaging or ends up being just another annoying mechanic (my aren't I a ball of positive comments today XD ) Nerfing heals even more though, really? I really dislike the current trend for 'you can only have this many healing items' or 'you can have more healing items... but only use one per combat, and the cooldown is universal'. It's just... ugh it annoys the heck out of me, because I like the security of knowing I can keep my party alive. I don't want to be holding off on healing because I know I can only use it so many times, or nearly dead in a big fight and having healing items but not being able to use them because of some stupid universal cooldown (I'm mainly referring to how things work in ToR, but I really dislike having healing limited). I am looking forward to it Now if they would just give us some info about any possible collectors/signature/whatever special editions of it there might be...

We need to be collectors edition bros. Also? I'm not toooo thrilled with Vivienne. She kind of sounds like she might be a little stuck up. An Orlais traditionalist.

Vivienne is one of the companions announced for Dragon Age: Inquisition. She's apparently a dark skinned mage, very pro-circle and with a huge faible for sarcasm and top of the line Orlesian fashion. Other companions announced so far are Solas, a bald elf mage, Varric, Cassandra (romance) and Cullen (romance). And congrats on 100!

Cassandra and Cullen are confirmed as romance options. A templar and a cleric - so probably the alternatives are mages. Solas? Vivienne?

Here's the new trailer complete with Oct 7 release date - and the companions are teased right at the end of it. I (and a few other people) am guessing the people shown with weapons are companions and the others are advisors. Which means we now know who our Asunder companion is... www.youtube.com/embed/uO2h4qUNJ60?rel=0

I really hope this baby lives up to the hype. Varric looks fantastic, and so does Cassandra - her features are sharp, but she looks, ya know, human (unlike default femShep in ME3...). I haven't followed much about this game, or read any of the recent books. I assume nine of those folks in the wide shot near the end are the nine companions referred to on the Inquisition site. Far left is Cullen, Vivienne and Varric. Don't know who the pale-looking rogue(?) human is, or the bald elf (Dalish?). Then Cassandra, the Inquisitor, tiny-headed oxman, Rivaini-looking guy, and strangely-dressed mage(?) woman. I think I spotted the blonde elf archer woman earlier in the video as a companion? Last is bun-lady, and beefy Duncan-clone. Is there any info out on the others I couldn't name? I don't want to spoil myself too much, which is why I'm avoiding other forums and ignoring rumors, but these kind of trailers make me curious. Really excited for this game! Already saving up to build a shiny new gaming PC in time for October.

My Mr. Pulled the trailer up and had me pause my game to watch it. It looks good, I hope the game play is that striking.

Supposedly, the people who carry weapons/staves in the group image are companions, the other three (Cullen, Leliana, and as of yet unnamed "scribe girl") are advisors or agents or have some other management related purpose. The pale blondie kid is most likely Cole from David Gaider's novel "Asunder". Oddly, he's the only one who remains completely motionless in the last shot. The bald elf mage is named Solas and rumored to be an expert on Fade related things. Not much else is known about him so far. The red headed lady in the purplish robes (from memory, I can't see the image right now) is Leliana. Little is known about the other companions, other that the elven archer girl is most likely named Sera, and the man with the two-handed sword is a (ex-?) Grey Warden. The trailer was nice looking, but also worried me, what with all the killing of Grey Wardens going on in it. I would be disappointed if the Wardens got a ME3-style Cerberus treatment. My greatest hope for Inquisition is that the writing will be improved over DA2's ham-fisted "drama over coherent storyline" approach. I want subtlety and nuances coming back to characters and plot elements. I want to get rid of elements like "all mages are crazy abominations" and "all templars are fascists in plate armor", things that DA2 slammed in your face with all the grace of a frying pan. We better not get "all Grey Wardens are actually evil" this time around. That said, they have made a few design decisions that I really like so far. Limited health regeneration is a good thing - I like it when a game puts actually pressure on me when a situation is dire, and not just tells me that things are bad while my party merrily regenerates to full health again anyway after each encounter. The new cover art looks amazing, and I hope they keep it around. Now if their version of the Frostbite 3 engine would just support Mantle on AMD graphics cards...
