The weekeeennnd so I have some free time.
I've got the mod installed and had a look in the toolset. Good news is all the mod-specific files are marked, which makes things a lot easier (because there are so many files in the game). I started to have a look but... what little I did learn of NWN modding years ago appears to have flown from my memory.
That being the case I figured it might be best to see if I can recreate the bug first to try and narrow down what might be causing it.
If I don't get the bug popping up then... I'm not sure what would cause an intermittent issue. Possibly the positions of the characters? Sitting down was mentioned, perhaps that's part of what is causing the problem? If you could tell me exactly what is happening, what dialogue is firing and what isn't, where it stops and what actions are actually being performed that may help.
Good luck, Shades, fingers crossed for your journey into Aurora!
Well. The problem is that the script somehow does not pass to the second stage. It goes from the bartender saying his hello until the moment when Valen is supposed to say something like "So is that what you do in your spare time". Doesn't matter if we sit, stand close or far from each other. I tried several times to restart the game, each time choosing a different dialogue option and, as I said, nothing happens. But, Shades, this is just a minor bug in a conversation that is not really important for the plot and even for the mod itself, as I can still flirt with him (although one more thing makes me wonder: is there any reason why, even though several responses exist for each action, the script seems to be preferring some of them in particular? For example, when I examine Valen's scars, I always get to see the ones on his nose. I've read the content of this mod in the toolset and I thought that responses are assigned randomly every time I flirt).
What IS a major problem that may be resulting from installing the mod (I guess) is Aribeth. I mentioned it in my other post on this forum. She's just gone in Cania. Riddle me this!
Anyway, I decided to buy a full english version of the game and I'm trying to persuade myself that I am not a "nolife" yet, and it's just for...errr..."developing my non-native language skills" (and totally NOT for Zbyrski's dubbing, no, not at all! By the way, if you guys were curious, I could show you our polish Valen). Will see if that works. Somehow I feel that some of these bugs and errors may be caused by my polish installation files.

Did you by chance spend the night in Hells Breath Tavern prior to getting Arabeth? If so then: I noticed that if you do weird things happen, and like Lady Arabeth misding & do not leave Deekin near the Black Draggon if you rent that room either he disapears. From Cania: un freeze Arabeth, do a couple of quests, then rent the room . I hope this helps, of course I usually play with out her having Deekin and Valen is my usual choice.
Women have strength, beauty, value, and many facets that sparkle and shine. Much like a diamond in many regards. Never forget your worth, you are a treasure beyond price.
Ok, I'm jesting, but - I didn't, because I've read what can possibly go wrong if I do things in the wrong order. And this makes me concern even more, actually, because otherwise I could put the blame on it.

I'll need that luck, all of it XD
Hmm okay that should narrow down what I'm looking for a bit more. I'll need to read up a little on NWN modding too I think so I can understand what I'm looking at a little better.
Oh, that's really interesting that you mention that about the random responses, because the mod page says:
- The talk in the Lith My'athar Public House should now fire correctly, and should now only be available if Valen is in your party.
- *Many* flirts have been recoded, so you should now see the various random responses as intended, instead of getting the same response over and over (note that some flirts were designed to only have one response.)
- Corrected a slew of typos.
- The darkness effect should now be removed after completing the tavern talk in Chapter Three.
Seems to me that this makes it even more likely that these are problems because the erf files are old. The updated erf files would have them fixed like the mod says, but alas I don't have any copies of them. So I wouldn't be surprised if there are also possible issues with the darkness effect in there too.
I'm not sure why it would cause Aribeth to not pop up in Carnia though. I can't think of any reason things regarding Valen would have any relation to her spawning at all but I'll take a look.
Don't worry, you're certainly not a "nolife" I think I have about three versions of NWN now (physical, gog, steam) and I've lost count of how many versions of something like BG XD I am curious now about how polish Valen sounds!
Well, I guess there's nothing we can do about it then, unless there's someone who has the newest erf files. Oh, the darkness effect you mention did appear, but it was gone after we did a short rest. But this Aribeth thing puzzles me, maybe installing the game once again is going to solve it eventually.
There you go! Polish Valen starts at about 1:07. This is the very first dialogue you can have with him, as you can guess. The voice is not loud and the author of the video interjects (V: I, however, I do not believe in prophecies./A: Good, neither do I), but you can hear him. I know that his confession part would be much better to show his way of depicting this caracter, but I can't find it on YT and now I'm too lazy to record it by myself. But I will, promise. He is really good, not as good as Zbyrski, but still - good, his version of Sigil Song is awesome! ^^ What's interesting, he was also the voice of The Big M here.
I'm also looking for the missing erf files for the Valen flirtpack. I recently installed NWN on a new PC and I was really looking forward to romancing Valen again! If someone could send the files to me, that would be greatly appreciated!
Hello. I have the same problem - looking for missing .erf files of this mod (Valen flirtpack). Can anyone help me, please?

xeiroe: Hello, dunno if anyone is still here, but does anyone know where to find the Valen mod for BG2? I had a massive hard-drive failure and lost it and can't locate it online, anywhere. I know it was left unfinished but I still liked to play through it.
