As I go through the old PnT pages I'll be ferreting out any useful information to repost here, in this case from the NWN section. Mostly bugs and fixes but there might be a few other things worth keeping too. Needless to say, all of this content was originally posted by the lovely members of Petals and Thorns when it was around. Unsurprisingly a lot focus on HotU and Valen Shadowbreath
Downloads:
Deekin Stories Fix: (Apparently a few stories that Deekin tells have the wrong references, this fixes that. Created by WSprite.)
Valen Romance Fix: Chapter 2, Chapter 3 (adds the Deity and Baby Valen romance talks that don't work normally due to bugs)
Notes:
-This is included in the Valen Flirtpack.
Valen Mimic Patch: (adds a response from Valen to the mimic in Cania, written by David Gaider)
(Phil at Ladies of Neverwinter was apparently the first one to work on this, then Anaria Bladeflight at Petals and Thorns later provided this version)
Notes:
-This is included in the Valen Flirtpack.
-Chapter 3 has to be restarted to get it working.
-Recompiling the module is also recommended: Go to Build - Build Module and check only Compile, Scripts and Palettes. Then save after.

Bugfixes:
General
1. Problem: When does the first Valen talk fire?
Suggested fixes:
-Rest after finishing each major quest and a talk will fire.
Example: Avariel and Golems, then Underdark and the rest (to do all don't return to Lith My'athar after you've completed your... I think it was third main quest to keep the siege from happening).
-Doing Underdark first can result in missing some talks.
-Additionally: Deekin's and Nathyrra's talks can override Valen's smaller ones ones.
-If Valen doesn't comment upon entering an area (and another companion does) you can drop the other companion before entering and pick them back up afterwards.
-You can use the Reaper's Relic to return to the Seer and back without entering Lith My'athar and avoid triggering the Siege.
2. Problem: Deekin is not available for Chapter 3.
Suggested fix:
This is a bug, Deekin needs to die or be removed from the party at least once in Chapter 2 or he will not show up as an option in Chapter 3.
3. Problem: Don't have a toolset/where is the toolset?
Suggested fix:
-It should come with the game and can be accessed through the small menu that pops up when you start the game. The 'Toolset' button is under the 'Play' button.
-Macs do not have the toolset, neveredit might work instead.
4. Problem: Using NWN Diamond Edition version 1.66, automatic update doesn't work and comes up with a critical failure. Should the Hordes of OC version be downloaded?
Suggested Fix: The latest patch is 1.69 and says each patch contains all previous updates so you shouldn't need anything else.
Valen Romance Fix
1. Problem: Fix installed upon completion of Chapter 2. In Chapter 3 when in Cania nothing happens, the fixed talk doesn't fire.
Suggested fixes:
-Speak to him and choose "What did you want to say to me earlier?"
-Rest, if it still doesn't fire try moving.
-Talk often fires around the Sleeping Man's temple the first time.
Valen Mimic Patch
1. Problem: When trying to import the erf file error 'Could not open file because it was created with a newer version of the toolset". Also where is the Overwrite Existing Resources dialog?
Suggested fix:
The Mimic Patch was created using version 1.67 and so needs the same version or later to appear and work properly.
2. Problem: Valen Mimic talk not firing.
Suggested fix:
-Go into debugmode to see where the triggers are, it should be the second one. For some it may only trigger in debugmode.
-Test the talk by doing the following...
3. Problem: When trying to import the erf file error says Expansion Pack 1 needs to be installed.
Suggested fix:
-The Shadows of Undrentide expansion is required for modules created in the toolset.
4. Problem: Where is the erf directory that the mimic.erf file is supposed to go in?
Suggested fix:
-The 'erf' folder is in the main NWN folder. If there isn't one create a folder named 'erf' to put the file in.
5. Problem: Will it work with the German version?
Suggested fix:
-It works with the Polish version, so probably.
6. Problem: Tried to import the patch, but it said it wouldn't run without con_q2dgate_1.nss, con_q2dgate_2.nss, vs_nx2nathf_117.wav, x2_inc_banter.ncs
Suggested fix:
-Ignore them, errors like this often occur when editing and saving a campaign module but it should run.
7. Problem: Tried to open XP2_Chapter3 in the toolset but it doesn't exist.
Suggested Fix:
-Campaigns don't count as normal modules. Select 'Campaign Modules' in the small window when you start rte Toolset.
-You can't open a chapter if you haven't played it before, to access it do the following
Go to the NWN main folder (eg C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\) and open neplayer.ini
Under Game Options, before Server Options add
Save, open the toolset and you should see the Campaign Modules.
8. Problem: Talk cut off abruptly where the second henchman would interject.
Suggested Fix:
-This was because the player didn't take a second henchman. Drag Aribeth along and it works.

Valen: "Err... my lady?" The tiefling seems a bit flustered, his eyes directed skyward. "Is it not a bit dangerous to... be so bare. Of armor, I mean."
----- PC: "I'm in no danger, Valen."
Valen: "I am certain that you are well able to protect yourself, of course." He gulps and looks in another direction. "That is not what I meant..."
----- PC: "Well, what do you mean, then?"
Valen: "I, ah... I simply mean you may attract unwanted attention. This is a land of devils, after all."
A---- PC: "Oh? Who says a little attention is unwanted?"
B---- PC: "You think devils are interested in my underwear?"
C---- PC: "As opposed to unwanted attention from fiends?"
A -- Valen: Valen suddenly loses his composure, staring at you with open shock. "My lady!" he says scandalously. Then, realizing he is looking at you, suddenly stammers and turns away.
B -- Valen: Valen squirms openly, trying to formulate a response to your question. Still not looking at you he mutters, "You are a beautiful woman, my lady, without doubt. You... would garner notice wherever you went."
C -- Valen: Valen's eyes go wide and he stares at you openly. "I... I did not mean... that is... my lady, how could you think...!" Suddenly realizing he is looking at you, his eyes go wider as he turns away.
Valen: He clears his throat, looking abashed. "I simply... I would not want any attentions directed your way to be... inappropriate."
----- PC: "Valen... are you defending my honor?"
----- (Interjection) Nathyrra: Raising an eyebrow, the drow chuckles with amusement. "Actually, I think he is defending your cleavage."
----- (Interjection) Deekin: "Wait! Wait!" The kobold writes furiously in a small notebook, a tongue idly sticking out of one side of his mouth. "You slows down! Deekin not writes so fast!"
----- (Interjection) Evil Aribeth: The ghost groans audibly and turns around, sticking her finger in her pale throat and making slight gagging noises.
----- (Interjection) Good Aribeth: The ghost grins at Valen affably and arches an eyebrow at him. "Yes, that's a good question, Valen. Are you defending her honor?"
Valen: His pale eyes suddenly turn and fixate on you, his bashfulness melting away to be replaced by a sudden intensity and earnestness. "Always, my lady," he says in a breathless tone, his eyes unmoving, "if you'll allow me."
Valen: His gaze lingering only a moment longer, a blush slowly crawls up his cheeks. Finally he turns away once more, his stance resolute, leaving you to return to the business of the odd mimic.

dm_movetoarea GatesOfCania
dm_jumptopoint 40 25 hx_hand_plane
And the convo should fire in English.

Through Abyssal Pits and Hells of cold,
Across celestial heights and seas of gold,
I cannot be kept from you.
From the astral depths and wastes of grey,
By the gates of Sigil with beasts at play,
I will always wait for you.
Neither death nor fear nor power scorn’d
Shall make my love forsworn’d.
My soul, my flesh, my heart is true,
These with eternity my gift to you.
Across celestial heights and seas of gold,
I cannot be kept from you.
From the astral depths and wastes of grey,
By the gates of Sigil with beasts at play,
I will always wait for you.
Neither death nor fear nor power scorn’d
