Well, I lost my old Dragon Age saves, so I recently started a new game and made some different "origins" out of curiosity. Until now, my most favorite is Aeducan's origin (Damn you, brother!), but I enjoyed Tabris, Surana and Amell as well.
How about you, folks?

I've always been rather fond of Brosca. It has my favorite characters: Leske and Rica and I like the rags to riches story. And lady dwarves are ridiculously cute. But I rarely play past the origin story, since I tend to make-up personalities which get no fitting dialog options later in the game.
I do like all the other origins, but Brosca just has that special spot in my mind. (It was also the Origin which I managed to finish the game with for the first time. Amell got close, but I lost interest after the Landsmeet and had to start over.)

My favorite would have to be Tabris. I feel like it's the perfect level of underdog, someone judged for their race but with the street smarts and skill to change perceptions, or at the very least accomplish the task regardless of what the world thinks. Plus, I admit a weakness for gutting cackling villains. And I like the family aspect, too - daddy and the cousins and an impending marriage. Brings a really nice sense of belonging, short lived as it is, and I remember being really upset the first time I got back to Denerim and couldn't get into the alienage because of the riots. I like when games can inspire those sort of emotional reactions. I love Surana as well, but being elven and a mage - and a female, for me - is just a LOT to have stacked against a hero in that particular setting... hence why my Surana is a bloody-thirsty loon who just might be worse than the Blight itself! It's fun to be able to play that way, though. I didn't even know there was a quest in DA2 if you let Amarathine burn in Awakening because I'd never done it until my last mage run. Bastards branded me a maleficar! It was awesome.

I like the mage Origin and it was the first I played through with. The first time around the Harrowing was quite a mystery until I did it. If I'd been able to I would have had a half-elf (still find it stupid that an elf and human create a human). Also nice that you get a few links thrown in through the game to the mage Origin such as Jowan and Cullen. Hmm that makes me think, Lilly probably died at the tower with the whole demon thing.
My Tabris is just out to burn the world XD She probably would have made a good dalish. That also brings to mind the fact that the Dalish Origin could have created a bit more of a sense of community if they'd also had the characters family still alive and around. I mean the link to Tamlen is nice but one person doesn't make you feel close to the whole community.
While Cousland might be well done I tend to steer away from it because it was obviously the one that they put the most effort into since they figured most would pick it.
