Hey everyone!
Working on my own original piece, I've come to realize that a lot of people I talk to have something similar going on in their own world. You know the one.. The one that you've been writing for yeearrrs...The one that you start painting/drawing and always come back to in between projects...The one that's seen more rewrites than a high school love letter...The one that you always have grand plans for that have yet to take off and fulfill the aspirations you're dreaming for it?
Well, I was just wondering what yours are. This should be a thread to encourage other ideas and open up for plugging your work (if you've made it) and encouraging your fellow writer/artist/musician. If you don't want to tell, you don't have to. But it's always cool to hear what kind of plans someone has for their works and to say it out loud without being judged (so to speak). Tell us everything, if you can! What are your hopes and dreams for this work? What would you like to see happen?
For me personally, it's my Avariella series. It's a series of stories about princesses from all around this continent who are facing a troubling power stirring in their kingdoms. Each of them must face their fears and find the source of this evil. Pirates, gypsies, magic, fairies!
I have 3 books planned out, it's going to be a big webcomic. If I had my way, it would become an animated series like avatar, the last airbender and possibly a movie made out of it later. A game would probably be last, though it wouldn't be impossible. I think it's probably my greatest aspiration, to have a hand in molding some little girls dreams. I hope one day I acheive it.
What about you guys? Do you have any projects like that? What do you hope for it? I'd love to hear what you have to say!

I don't have such a piece at the current moment. I know Gileadan in real life and we've been writing together for about 3-4 years now, but I'm not sure any of it it's meant for publishing. We're just having fun and improving our writing. I generally think it's more fun to write with a partner because you keep surprising each other, especially when the purpose is to keep it amateurish and enjoy the heck out of it. I also write my own story for... jeez! Ten years or so, but again, I don't mean to make any of it public. It's a conglomerate or writing exercises and good ideas that I'm having over the years, all wrapped up in the same story I started with. It's like my other world that I dream off. I've been writing since I was maybe 9-10 years old, and I'll always write. In fact, the first things I did as a kid were Role playing and Creative writing. I mean to publish one day, but later, in the second half of my life, once Acting is on its way and once the only way to be adventurous is to put it on paper. I don't think young people should be writers. I think they should live first, and write later. I don't mean to offend anyone, and that doesn't mean that young writers don't give you GOOD stuff. I just want my dad to be proud of whatever comes out of my brain, and let me tell you, he's a tough cookie to please when it comes to literature.

That's awesome! And 10 years, wow I can't imagine what kind of transformations the piece has taken over that period of time. And yeah, I totally agree it is a lot of fun to just let loose and write for the heck of it.
No offense at all taken, I also write because I choose to. I'm not a party girl or anything, I like sitting at home and playing games and talking to friends, or doing tabletop. I live a more laid back lifestyle so writing and drawing suits me just fine. Plus, Avariella really helps me feel better when I'm down. I just take a moment to breathe and listen to the music that inspires me to write it, then draw or write whatever comes to mind. And I think when it's done, it will be something people will like. At least I hope so!

I'd love to hear what you have to say! Well, this group will probably not be surprised to hear that for me, it's Sanctum of the Archmage. Although I've had some success with modding a small part of the story for NWN, my actual aspirations for the saga have always been quite a bit more ambitious than that. My initial efforts to write novels based on the saga go back a long time, and predate the NWN mods by... well, more years than I'd prefer to be specific about. For many of those years, though, I had to prioritize developing my career, and to keep putting my writing on the "I'll get to it someday" shelf. When I was younger, I also found that I lacked confidence in myself as a writer and clarity about what I really wanted to say. Those developed as I got older, and it's only in the last decade that I feel I've started to become really comfortable with them. That that's also happened at a time when the e-book revolution is poised to open up new options for developing and publishing my writing just makes me more excited about the whole prospect. As for my hopes -- well, I've actually posted the scope of my plans for the novels on my website here. Each of the books outlined has a worked out storyline behind it. My hopes are that once I'm able to start publishing the novels, that they'll be successful, allowing me to develop and devote more of my time to a writing career. I'd also love to develop more of the story in RPG form as well. And of course, no writing fantasy would be complete without the obligatory dream of one day seeing them made into movies.

Just for the record, I loved reading your stories in this thread, guys! I'm also sort of a book-worm and hermit myself, and it's totally wonderful to see people who are of a similar state of mind. Introverts, UNITE!

Oooooh~ That makes me need to play it all the more. As soon as I am done wading through ADWR... Or I tire of it's debauchery. XD

My biggest story is one called A Pound of Flesh, I've been working on it, changing and developing or redoing it for about... 18 or 19 years now? Geez! It seems such a long time XD I just love going back to old ideas and updating them, taking bits of something I'd tried to make years ago and improving upon them. I think time can work wonders on ideas and stories. Anyway, my brain seems to often get into a creative frenzy... which is why I have about 11 other stories all set in their own worlds as well (and don't even get me started on my game-based characters and stories...) A few years ago I decided to link them up so all these stories do take place in the same world, just at drastically different time periods That way it felt less like lots of fragments to me and more like one whole thing that I was working on. In terms of progress I have lots of writing notes and art sketches, I tried making a comic of APoF once but disliked and so stopped it. My overall goal is to get most of these stories done in comic form though, with some in writing if it suits them more (though I want to improve my writing a lot to do that). APoF itself is a fantasy setting though with my own made up races rather than the usual elves and dwarves etc. The other stories are in a variety of different settings, ranging from modern day, sci-fi, mythology and even one with anthromorphic races. I do hope to have all the different stories in my head down in some form, paper or electronic in my lifetime

Mine is, sadly, lost. It was a story from the perspective a prisoner in isolation and his struggle to figure out just why he was there. Basically as he fell further into madness his memories began to return and the reader would slowly learn the events leading up to his imprisonment.
