Naruto!
kage bushin no jutsu
So tomorrow, Toonami is going to be showing Naruto! It'll run at 9pm, and they're showing the first two episodes twice. I'm pretty excited even though I've seen up to episode 150 of the series already. It's just a great show, even if its target audience is 10 years younger than I.
Don't miss it if you get Cartoon Network! (I think Canada is getting it today if you live there. Mean Canadians.)
Oh, and they're showing the Escaflowne movie too. *sigh* They should show the series. If they're getting Eva, they can get Escaflowne...

Yay, Naruto is taking over the world! *dances* It's one of my favourite shows ever. Although.. I really hope the dub is good. A bad dubbing can completely destroy a show.
*puts on her Jiraya and Kakashi fangirl badges*

Hmmm I don't like the dub.
Looking past the main cast, their choices for secondary characters make me think that they don't realize that some of these "minor" charactes are going to become important characters. Shikimaru just sounded like "generic guy".
So many little things are altered/removed that they might not take much away, but it'll be distracting to me. Of course, I'm the kind of guy who was upset over Kenshin's lack of "Oro" in the dub, so I might be an extremist. I'm still going to miss Naruto's "dattabayo," however.
I also forgot how slow the series starts out with the character introductions and all. That's not a complaint, just an observation.

thought I know why they dub series like Naruto, it really is a shame.
I have heard from others that Series like Dragon Ball Z is actually good in japanese.. but since I saw it with danish dub I just cant take it serious.
I hope the same thing doesnt happen to Naruto here, but I guess it is just a matter og time before I will see the first episode in danish. Such a shame for such a good series

I haven't even been watching the dub. Of course, I have seen it all before up to episode 158.
Cartoon Network has been showing uncut DBZ here. It's actually better. Apparently, the editing for TV cut out mostly... plot! And, to fill in gaps, they added a lot of flashbacks. And, the show already had lots of flashbacks, so yeah.
Of course, nothing compares to the horridness of the One Piece dub. They cut so much plot that they had to combine episodes to make up for it.

*sigh* I caught up on reading the manga last night. It was excellent like always. I kinda knew it would be, but was still shocked at how great it is. I floated in fangirlish bubble for hours, polishing my new Orochimaru fangirl badge. (You know you love someone when you're glued to the screen the moment you hear something resembling his theme song. )
The whole world is crying about the neverending anime fillers, but.. damnit they really should have done reruns rather than produce the utter crap that destroys the whole image of the show and makes people forget how awesome it used to be when it followed the actual manga. This whole thing is so absurd, and raises so many questions.. How does all this make the mangaka feel? Has he sold his soul? Was the money that good? Or does he have no say in this? Who wrote these damn retarded episodes? (My guess is that they collected the worst Naruto fanfic writers from all over the world to work together.) And most importantly.. when will we see the REAL Naruto again?
Thank goodness for Bleach. Because I'm SO not touching Naruto until I see the wonderful magical words.. "Kakashi Gaiden".

Japan never does reruns. It's an odd concept to be sure. But, they don't.
They should have gone the Tsubasa Chronicle route and just taken a season off. Tsubasa is doing just fine with a season missing. I think the Naruto people are just too greedy most likely.
The latest Naruto had Naruto running around in Ino form peeing everywhere. I didn't see it, I just heard a rumor and checked with someone I know who watches it. It's not pretty. Not pretty at all.

Wow, I had no idea. Still, I agree that they definitely should have just put the series on hold like Tsubasa. But I guess they can't do that or people will forget the show and the merchandise won't sell. Don't they realize that the show has adult fans? Or maybe at this point I should say "had".

I almost cried when I saw a description of the episode. Comparing it to the latest manga chapters.. Gimme back my Naruto!

Has anybody seen the 2nd Naruto Movie? I have to admit that I actually liked it, especially since Gaara was in it. And, Kankurou, the puppet Sand Ninja, too. He's so cool.
I thought of this because I just saw the trailer for the 3rd movie and it looks kind of... erm... not so good. It could have potential, but the whole circus thing worries me, and while I love Lee, Naruto, Sakura, and Lee don't seem like enough characters after the second movie.
I didn't too much care for the 1st movie either, it was kind of a "meh" for me. Not really bad, but not really good.

No one else? Guess I have to continue this dialogue then.
Yep, I've seen it. Liked it for the characters but that's it. Gaara, Kankurou and Temari are all my faves, and I've always loved Shikamaru as well. (I'm a fan of Shikamaru x Temari btw, tee hee.. ) The first movie I liked mostly because it had Kakashi in it. There's a pattern here.. maybe Lee will indeed save the third one?
IMO while the movies are loads better than the series has been for a long time, compared to the pre-filler Naruto (or the manga) they still suck. Too long, too uninteresting, too different.. the usual series-made-into-movie problems.

Yeah, I never expect much for TV made into movies. Keeps my expectations nice and low so that I can enjoy them! I just focus on the pretty pictures and fight scenes. Like Sakura's bouncing chest in the 2nd movie, which I'm sure everyone noticed right? I'm not that bad!
A Kakashi Gaiden movie would rule, though.

Hmm I havent got passed the 150th episode I have just been to busy to actually spend the time on it. It sounds like perhaps it just goes downhill from there? I mean there has been fillers in the previous episode but in generel the show is still good there I think.
Havent seen any of the movies though.
This is just a hunch but Jello Kitty.. you wouldnt happen to be a rapid Sesshoumaru fan as well would you?

It does. From "bah, another filler story, I wish they'd start the real story soon" to "what the heck is this , because it sure ain't Naruto?". The episodes become increasingly childish and stupid, with retarded gags that are supposed to fish laughs out of little boys. There are some more serious ones, but the stories are really repetitive and lacking. Oh, and don't get me started on the "important life lessons" aspect that suddenly appeared.. what would you say about a episode that has a rich little boy who thinks he can buy anything with money and keeps throwing wads of cash around, until Naruto shows him true friendship.. I mean, what the , when did Naruto become an educational children's show? *swallows the rest of the rant* Geez..

Actually I haven't seen the anime. I've read some books and liked them a lot (Rumiko Takahashi rocks ^_^), Sesshoumaru wasn't in them though. I'm pretty sure I'd love him though. Based on what I know he has an awful lot of qualities that I love.
T-wiz, a Kakahi Gaiden movie would be so awesome.. It's the perfect story for a movie! (As for the Sakura comment, I think I just dubbed you "ero-sempai" in my head. *snort* Hehe, I don't know which one of us is actually older, but at least you've seen more anime than me. One of these days my uncontrollable nicknaming habit is gonna get me in trouble, I just know it... )

Ero-sempai? In the school of perversion, I am unparalleled!
And, I'll ditto all that about Naruto. So very sad...
