Japanese site is up for the new Hellsing OVA!
....of course it's not officially open until September 15, but...
How exciting! I'm so thrilled they're going to continue this series.
Here's the link: www.geneon-ent.co.jp/rondorobe/anime/hellsing/

Ooohh.
Now, I'm not a huge vampire genre fan, but Hellsing I like. How could I not? Alucard is just too cool! A sequel would be awesome.

Well, from what I've heard, it's not exactly going to be a sequel. It will be an open-ended series of OVAs that are 35 minutes each. They're going to start over at the beginning and stay closer to the manga plot. It's open-ended at this point as the manga has not been finished yet. I know they are going to use some of the same music. I tried to find a copy of the trailer, but all I've got right now are screen shots.
What I don't know is whether the English dub is going to have the same voice cast...

I never heard the english voice cast. ^^;
Dang, I want to know what happens next. I guess I should pick up the manga, but there's already so much to see. Ah well, as long as it has Victoria in a police issue miniskirt with a big gun and Alucard being a freaky killer halfway uncontrollable psychopath, I'm good to go. XD

Tha manga has a huge Neo-Nazi plot involving a gi-normous undead army.
And by the way the new website is open now so you can catch the trailer. If anyone out there speaks Japanese maybe you could tell us what the voiceover says?
(I only know a few words... )

Did I miss a post about the dates it is coming out, where it will be available? Channel? Just for purchase?
Was a really fun series. Have only seen one other "vampire" based anime and that was the Nightwalker series, liked it as well. But no one is as cool as Alucard.

I believe they will start being released in December (in Japan, anyway). Not sure about US releases.

Apparently the first volume is going to be released in Japan tomorrow (Feb 10th). Finally! I can't wait for reviews.
More Alucard... it has to be good.

Hmmm...not that I advocate downloading stuff illegally - but you can down load the subbed OVA. Of course, all we can ask is that once it's licensed stop downloading it and buy it!!!
Edited to remove the link as it has been licensed...

Geneon has licensed it. They did the series, too, which I think they did a fairly good job with, so I'm glad it was them. I have to say the animation looks awesome. Mmmmm goodness.

Any word on whether they'll be getting the same voice actors back?
And I liked the OVA, but I kinda missed the musci from the first series - it really helped to bring the story together.

I haven't been able to find anything about the voice actors for it. However, since Geneon dubbed the first one, its possible that they'll try to bring back the original cast.
After watching it, the animation is amazing! It moves really fast, and I wonder if it would leave behind new viewers. People who never saw the original and decide to check this out might be confused. It's also more faithful to the manga, which means darker. I liked it.
Can't wait for OAV #2!

Agreed - better animation overall than the first one (not on par with Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, but still pretty darn good). The fast pace was definately something to consider for someone who hasn't seen the originals or read the manga. I'd be interested in hearing opinions from people in that situation.
Hmmmm....Draculina? Pretty funny, if you ask me...

I just found out that the fansub I downloaded (by Bakafish) left out the intro, which showed Integral's first meeting with Alucard.
Do you know how many episodes this is going to be? Maybe they'll slow things down after they cover the aspects done in the TV show, which I know they're going past. As someone who has never read the manga (just heard things about it), I'm very interesting in finding out what occurs after that.

well...the TV show radically veered from the manga around episode 8 or so. Basically since the manga isnt' finished, Gonzo decided to just make up their own stuff (which really pissed off the creator). Where's the manga going? Think 4th Reich, basically - with zombies and vampires. Oh...and Seras heads down the path to become a true "No Life King" (Pretty wicked stuff, there - and very gory).
I don't think there's a set number of OVAs at this point - just that they'll keep making them until the story is done (hopefully).
