Avatar: The Last Airbender
Not exactly anime persay, but close enough. (It's american, and made by Nickeloadean) It's so good!
Basically the focus is about the last wind airbender Aang, trapped in an iceberg for 100 years. He has to master the four elements to defeat the Fire nation, which has been waging war on all the other nations while again was unconscious. It's animated by Korean artists, and the fighting style is based/inspired by martial arts. The cultural tone is a mix of Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian, Korean, Indian, Tibetan, and Inuit. Tonnes of humour as well. I crack up each episode.
Just wondering if there are any other Avatar fans out there. I'm this close to fangirling Zuko.

I loves me some Avatar! Best thing to ever come out of Nickelodeon.
You can have Zuko if I get Azula. She's hot! Get it? Hot. <_<;;
Sakka somewhere turned into the man. I want to be Sakka.
I can't wait for the next season! Anybody know when that will be?

Done deal! (But I get it. )

I still wonder how that happened. It's a bit unusual for the comedy relief to be the guy who gets all the girls!
I hear it's supposed to come out sometime this summer, but when, I'm not sure...

Well, I have it ready for TiVo to record it as soon as it starts showing new ones, so I'll make a post if I see it coming up. Assuming there isn't a massive ad campaign, that is! That's generally how I know about new episodes for everything, though, I look at TiVo and am pleasantly surprised.

All signs seem to point to August or September as best I can tell anyway.
They're making some live-action ones too. (Though I've got dubious feelings about that)?

This show's awesome! I love it! I only found out about it a few weeks ago when I decided to watch it with my nephew. Initially I didn't have any interest in it, I thought it was another one of those kiddie cartoons with no story... I was very very wrong of course THe storyline and character development is what got me hooked. Just bought the DVDs of Book 1 (Vol 1 & 2), and catch Book 2 on Nickelodeon. Eagerly awaiting Book 3 XD!

Noo, spoilers, lol
I found it late last year myself and loved it, one of the best American cartoons to have been made, although I need to catch up on the first two seasons I've watched most of the third season and love it

I've just watched the whole series (Book 1-3) in about 2 weeks on dvd. This series is SOOOO great, and I can't believe that's all on this forum about fancying Zuko!? *looks up and down the forum* He's sooo hot, cute and it's soooooooooooooooooo mean that he and Katara don't become a couple in the end.
Is somebody out there who felt the same? (Though I'm a little late as always ) And likes to brood about it? *bounce bounce*

Yep, I agree, I was totally expecting Zuko and Katara to fall all over each other, especially when they were trapped in that cave together
I'm A zuko and Sokka fan myself - one is hot (and mentally scarred) and the other just cracks me up - kinda reminds me of mybrother actually

My sis and I discovered this recently and became completely obsessed (mostly with Zuko . . . what?) and bought all three seasons.
Now I'm sort of sad that it's over, though it was excellent from start to finish. I can't see the live action movie being as good, but maybe I'll watch it anyway.
TBH, I wasn't completely satisfied with Zuko or Aang's pairings. Mai was cool in like one scene, but we never really knew what made her and Zuko like each other in the first place. Likewise, I never really got a good feeling about Katara's feelings for Aang . . . one minute she was like "err, I dunno, sorry" and the next she's like "yay, Avatar hero!"

Love this series! I'm totally a fangirl of Zuko, and Azula is a perfect tragic antagonist.
Speaking of Avatar though, anyone else looking forward to The Legend of Korra? Just thinking about it sends a tingling sensation down my spine. Judging from the trailer, it looks like it'll be just as good as its predecessor. o uo~~~

Has anyone seen the latest Avatar spinoff? The Legend of Korra? My boys and I have watched the first few episodes and so far it seems to be done in the same quality as the original Avatar. Except now it's 70 years later and Aang is dead. The new avatar is a 16 year old water bender named Korra.
