AMVs have stolen my soul
I'm addicted to these things, so much so that I donated to AMVs.org because I spend so much time there. I've got over 20 gigs of AMVs! Anybody want to share their favorites or want me to link to a few of my favorites?

The power of AMVs is a scary one. The shame of almost crying to a Backstreet Boys*) song will be with me till the day I die.
I thought about it and decided my favourites aren't appropriate for this forum, but I am interested in your faves T-Wiz. Finding the really good ones is as hard as finding good anime fanfic, and I'm kinda scared to wade through the heaps of either..
*) I checked and it was actually *N Sync. But it's not like I can tell them apart anyway..

Hmmm my list is getting a bit unwieldy. I'll try to keep it somewhat brief... somewhat... If the anime listed on the page is in italics there are spoilers, so be warned and watch out for that if you haven't seen the series!
Tainted Donuts: a Cowboy Bebop / Trigun hybrid. A great group up!
Phenomonon: a Naruto video that I only discovered recently somehow! My current favorite Naruto video. Sierra Lorna is one of only two creators at AMVs.org who I've ranked two videos 5s.
Into the Fire: A Kenshin Trust and Betrayal vid. I love that OAV.
Images: I have actually never seen Last Exile. I've wanted to, and it was on TV for a while, but I missed it. But, I still love this video.
The World She Knows: Best Love Hina video I've ever seen hands down.
School Rumble - I'd Do Anything: I've never seen School Rumble, but I like this video.
Rhythm Animation: This is one of the first AMVs I ever saw, and it holds a special place in my AMV memory. This is very reminiscent of the style of the more popular AMVs when I started watching them, and one of the best ones at that. Fast paced with a techno beat, and lots and lots of series, so you can go "Escaflowne! Ah! My Goddess! Akira! Escaflowne again!" to show off your knowledge of anime and how little life you actually have. Or is that just me?
Jihaku: I'm more of a fan of single series AMVs, but I do enjoy good Various ones. This is one of the better ones, up there with Rhythm Animation, except is newer and shinier.
Charcoal Sketched Dreams: Haibane Renmei is my favorite anime series of all time. It accomplishes in 13 episodes what most series wish they could with 26. At least, that's my opinion. This song was practically made for Haibane Renmei (its the intro to Gasaraki).
DANSU: Upbeat and fun. This one's fairly new. It's really enjoyable to watch!
Still Preoccupied with 1985: The title gives it away doesn't it? It's hilarious. And its mostly Azumanga Daioh to boot! What's not to love?
RELEASE: CCS meets Bleach in a great parody video.
I Just Can't Wait to be King: Another great parody video, this one Escaflowne.
Disney in D(wchang) Minor: Inspired by the last video, another really good parody AMV.
Greed vs. Envy: Speaking of parody videos...
Right Now Someone Is Reading This Title: Another classic. If there were a required viewing, this would be on it.
Idol-ology: The wrongest video of all time, I'm thinking.
The Dolphins Cry: This wins my "most watched at work" award. Another good various piece.
The Pain Of Ryoko's Heart...: Another really old one, this one from 2000. AMVs took off around a decade ago, so yes, that's old. The video quality isn't that great because of it, but if you can look past that, its still good.
Crucify: The second AMV I ever saw. Also, the first time I heard Tori Amos. The start of two separate loves! There's no link on the AMV.org page, but if you scroll down here you can find a link to it. The video is pretty bad. This is from the days of VCRs people! Don't hold it against it.
Cucumber: Okay first watch that. Then watch the remake! The funny story behind the remake is on the AMV.org page.
Forbidden Memories: Reminiscence: It takes a small story from a second or third tear character from Fruits Basket and makes a beautifully endearing AMV out of it.
A Different Side of Me: A new way to look at Goldenboy. And, no, the video is not full of fanservice. I told you, new way to look at Goldenboy.
Elvis vs. Anime: This one is awesome if you remember the Elvis "A Little Less Conversation" video. Just awesome!
Sappy Self-Indulgence: I remember a friend of mine had sent me an mp3 of Elephant Love Medley, and the very next week I was at Anime Weekend Atlanta and saw this play in the AMV room during the contest. I sent that to her after I got back and really made her day with that one!
Shuuichi Came Back: Any Gravitation fans out there? I know there are...
Eva-Man: Also saw the premier of this at AWA. It will never be the same as watching it for the first time in a room full of cheering otaku, but its still fun to watch!
Hale's Mom: Hale's mom is hot! And, this song is so very funny! Perfect match.
Expendable Innocence: I think one of the signs of a really good AMV is that it makes you want to go watch the series again. That's my reaction every time I watch this one.
Euphorea: RahXephon might not be my favorite series ever, but I really do love this AMV. This thing is chock full of goodness.
Okay, I held myself back. That's 30. Probably too much, but I had trouble cutting! But, I'm going to try to choose my top 5 from the ones I listed... *painful face*
5. Forbidden Memories: Reminiscence
4. Phenomenon
3. Images
2. The World She Knows
1. Charcoal Sketched Dreams
I'm curious what you can't show here! Would you mind posting some in the M section? I have some I can post there, too.

It's going to take me a while to watch all of those.

One right here.
That one made me remembered an AMV I saw some time ago.. this time Shuichi is Ready to Go. I thought this one was fun because it looks like a real music video. I was impressed by the lip sync too - that must be a real pain to do!

I'm back from AWA with some AMVs.
I've got two awesome Kaleido Star AMVs: Dogfight and Clear Skies. Clear Skies won "Best Dance" video in Expo at the Con.
I'm sure nobody here likes yaoi, but I'll offer Restless anyway. It won "Best Romance" in Expo. The other great yaoi one was to "Miss Yaoi Obsessed Fangirl" by Vic Mignogna, a really fun guy and the voice actor for Edward Elric on Fullmetal Alchemist. I wish I could find it, but it doesn't appear to be uploaded anywhere on the 'net.
Best in Show Expo: Bumblebee Tuna! It's really great. Really.
There was a lot of really good stuff at AWA this year, with full lists here and winners here.
